General Notices
Cabrini Children’s Society
Provides support and care to some of the most vulnerable children, young people and families in our community. This includes providing extended school clubs; nursery care; counselling in schools; residential care for adults with learning disabilities and catechetical programmes for children and young people with special needs. 2012 is Cabrini’s 125th anniversary so help Cabrini to continue its fantastic work in your diocese by supporting this appeal. Please help give the next generation the chance they deserve and don’t forget to complete one of Cabrini’s gift aid envelopes if you are able.
Lent Small Groups
A group of 8 maximum will meet in St Clare’s Chapel on Tuesdays, beginning on Shrove Tuesday, from 1.30pm – 2.45pm. Please sign up at the back of the Friary – from Sr Patricia.
Lenten group at Gossops Green Convent will start on Ash Wednesday 3pm

150 Jubilee Celebrations
Our Jubilee Celebrations have begun and many of you will already have attended locally arranged functions within your community; other events will take place this year. The highlight will be on Sunday June 10th – so please put the date in your diary. Meetings are now being held with representatives from each community to discuss the format which these events should take and we will keep you up to date with developments as they occur.
Songs of Praise
As part of the continuing celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Crawley parish, you are cordially and wholeheartedly invited to join us in a mini “Songs of Praise” afternoon to be held at St Edward the Confessor, Pound Hill on Sunday 11th March at 3pm. To be followed by tea, coffee and cakes in the social club afterwards. All donations gratefully accepted.
All are very welcome and even if we are a little further away than your usual place of worship you will receive a warm and friendly reception.

Women’s World Day of Prayer
This year is written by the women of Malaysia. Please come and celebrate Crawley’s biggest Ecumenical even. All welcome. Friday 2nd March 10am at the Friary followed by refreshments and lunch in the Hall – in aid of Mother Teresa’s Hospice for the Dying, Calcutta. (Rehearsal 2pm Thursday 1st March in the Friary). Arundel& Brighton Diocesan Pilgrimage
to Lourdes: 26th July – 3rd August . Application forms are available in church of from the Pilgrimage Office and can be downloaded from the Lourdes website www.ablourdes.org. Pilgrims requiring any level of medical, nursing or carer assistance should contact the Pilgrimage Office direct on 01903 745180.
Lent Fast Day 2nd March
This year is focusing on increasing access to fresh water and sanitation. In recognition of the generosity of CAFOD supporters, the UK government has agreed through UK Aid Match funding that they will match £1 for every £1 donation given to CAFOD on this Fast Day. Envelopes will be on Newsletters next weekend 25/26th Feb. Please return in the retiring collection on 3/4 March. Let’s be generous to help the poor and most disadvantaged people. (from Min)
50 years of St. B’s 2012
To help celebrate this occasion can anyone lend any photos, drawings of design and build photos, service sheets, and programmes of any event that was celebrated over the last 50 years? We wish to create a display showing the life of St. B’s including priests, sisters, altar servers, first communion groups, etc., families who have grown up through St. B’s, anything and everything that relates our story will be considered and documented for safe returned.
