As part of the continuing celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Crawley parish, you are cordially and wholeheartedly invited to join us in a mini “Songs of Praise” afternoon to be held at St Edward the Confessor, Pound Hill on Sunday 11th March at 3pm. To be followed by tea, coffee and cakes in the social club afterwards. All donations gratefully accepted.
All are very welcome and even if we are a little further away than your usual place of worship you will receive a warm and friendly reception.

It was felt by those present that both Christmas Masses were extremely well attended, well co-ordinated by all those concerned and involved and much enjoyed and appreciated by all parishioners, families and visitors.
Fr Gerard, celebrating his first Christmas Mass was filled with enthusiasm and much exuberance together with humility and humour.
Mgr Tony was the celebrant for the later Mass for which we had an increased attendance; he made this a special time of reflection, prayer, thanksgiving and holiness, in which we could all participate.
The music for both masses was absolutely wonderful. All praise to choir and musicians for their participation and presentation. Well done!
We discussed various options which we feel may need to be implemented for next Christmas:
Remove chairs from obstructing safe passage to emergency exit situated in Lady Chapel.
Parking especially for the early Mass was chaotic. We need to invest in a sign which can be used for the appropriate occasion e.g. Car Park Closed/ Wedding/Funeral.
Plus a where to park notice on the church door a week before Christmas.
More stewards are needed for the 6.30pm Family Mass.
There were issues with distributing Communion at the Lady Chapel corner.
Suggestions were that we do not use that particular area for Communion and that we take Communion to the choir and musicians and that we consider how this may be resolved.
There is a need to maximise seating arrangements in the Lady Chapel.
Windows in the main church to be opened to allow sufficient ventilation.
Heating to be turned on sufficiently early, to allow the church to be fully heated before the congregation arrive.
No incense at the Vigil Mass.
Thanks to Mike Nelson in appreciation of his time and expertise in building and erecting our Christmas crib.
Christmas Carol Concert was successful but needs to be promoted as a parish event and gathering to encourage more of the worshipping community to attend

Parishioners are requested to use the Lady Chapel with their children if they become noisy, but please keep the doors closed
There is additional Parking Space in the Offices on Worth Corner opposite the mini roundabout near the Church.
Please use this to avoid the Church car park becoming too crowed with cars parked on hatched lines and double parked.
We had an incident recently where an ambulance needed to gain access. It was difficult for it to manouvre close to the doors.
If we had needed a Fire Tender, it could not have got in
